Provided below is a
message from the President concerning the Time Capsule
Dear Executive Committee and Members in the year 2050,
The
Executive Committee of 2000 has compiled for you a collection of
documents and mementos that best represents our Association as of today.
Each
artifact was carefully chosen and put into the time capsule at a fun
filled party at JoAnne Bagnell's home in Gladwyne. And we did have a
great time, but we also realized that all of us most likely would not be
there to witness the opening of the capsule. It is therefore our sincere
hope that you treasure and honor our past as we envy you living in the
future.
One
of the highlights in the year 2000 was the creation of our web sight
under the direction of our Executive Director, Charlotte Barnhard. This
new information technology has helped us greatly to communicate with our
vast membership and give our members up to date information and results
of our tournaments. We are fully aware that the technology available to
us must seem rather rudimentary to you. We can not imagine what it must
be like in the year 2050.
We
take great pride in being members of this Association founded in 1897.
It is our sincere wish that you continue to promote interest and
encourage friendly competition in women's amateur golf in the
Philadelphia area and protect the tradition and spirit of the game of
golf.
Sincerely,
Gail
Anderson
President
